Late to Class: Please arrive on time for class. Students who arrive later than 10 minutes may be asked to watch from the side, at the teacher’s discretion. Student safety is the primary factor in making this decision. Each class begins with a carefully designed warm-up. Missing warm-ups increases the risk of injury.
Missed Class: There are no refunds for missed classes or camps. Students may schedule a make up class if there is space available in another section of the same class. There are no make ups allowed for missed camps. Please read our Make Up Class policies below.
Make Up Classes: All make up classes must take place during the same session that the absence took place (e.g. Fall, Spring, or Summer Session). Pre, Kids, & Teen classes must be made up in another section of the same class. If no other section is available, then we are unable to schedule a make up. Adult classes can schedule a make up class in any other Adult class. During a session, dancers can schedule a maximum of 3 make up classes for each class they are enrolled in. Continual absences will disrupt your dancer's learning and progress. Make up classes cannot be scheduled during the first week of a session or during a watch week. Spring Session make ups will not be scheduled during May or June to allow classes to focus on performance readiness. When taking a make up class, the instructor may ask your dancer to watch while the class learns or practices performance choreography. Please schedule your make up class with the office at (425) 636-8494 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
Emergency/Weather Closure: Eastside Dance generally follows the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) emergency and severe weather closures, however, we will always assess if we can safely operate. When a decision has been made to close the studio, we will email and text all impacted families and update our website homepage. If classes are canceled due to emergencies/weather/power outages, we will do our best to schedule a make up class upon request.
Class Cancellations: All classes are subject to cancelation if the class has fewer than 4 students enrolled. If your class or camp is canceled, we will make every attempt to find a comparable class at a suitable day and time. If your schedule does not allow for a change, you will be refunded for the remaining classes in the session. If a class has fewer than 4 students, a teacher may elect to shorten the class if all the material has been taught.
Photos and Social Media: Eastside Dance maintains the right to take photos and/or videos of its dancers or guests. The photographs and videos are intended for marketing and promotional use on our website and social media and do not name or disclose personal information of those within the images. To request that no public photos be used of your dancer, please go to the Waivers section of your Eastside Dance Class Portal and complete the Photo Opt-Out Waiver.
Nut-Free Studio: In our ongoing efforts to increase the safety and well-being of all of our students Eastside Dance is now a peanut and nut-free studio. Thank you for your cooperation.
