Our teen-only classes allow you to take risks when learning new skills, develop your style, and feel connected to a peer community that uplifts. Teen classes begin with a warmup followed by skills practice. Divya, Teen Hip-Hop Dancer
Ballet: Dancers learn classical ballet positions and steps. Develop your strength, flexibility, musicality, balance, coordination, and stamina! Eastside Dance draws from the best of Balanchine and Vagonova ballet techniques. Ballet classes consist of barre and center combinations.
K-pop: Originating from South Korean music groups, K-Pop dance blends hip-hop, jazz-funk, and other street styles like Bhangra, and is set to upbeat, popular Korean music. Class is based on choreography, so dancers will learn a choreographed dance over 3-4 weeks.
Studio Hip-Hop: Join us in this fast-paced dance class. Dancers learn hip-hop dance technique and culture in a studio setting, beginning with bounces, rolls, grooves, rocks, and 2-steps. Dancers learn new choreography weekly, developing coordination, rhythm, strength, and memory. Classes are set to hip-hop music.
Musical Theater: Musical Theater is a unique class offered at Eastside Dance, that combines the most common forms of dance found on Broadway: Musical Theater Jazz, and Tap. If you love musical theater and acting, or dream of being on Broadway, this class is for you!
Contemporary: Contemporary movement pulls from Jazz, Lyrical, Classical modern dance techniques (Horton, Graham, Cunningham), and improvisation, to create a grounded, free, and emotive movement. This class is perfect for dancers who prefer more free-form movement and responding to the tone and lyrics of the music. Class is set to low-key contemporary pop music.
Beginning: For dancers with no prior experience (after age 5)
Beginning/Intermediate: For dancers with 1 year of experience or experienced dancers trying a new style of dance
Intermediate: For dancers with 2+ years of experience.
Level 3 and up: For dancers with 3+ years of experience who would like to train more intensively and be eligible to perform with the Eastside Dance Company.
