Whether you're new to dance or more experienced, our teen-only classes offer a supportive space to grow, take risks, and connect. Classes include warmups, skill-building, and choreography tailored to all levels. Instructors teach choreography, breaking down movements for beginners while challenging advanced dancers with technique, intricacy, and artistry.
Divya, Teen Hip-Hop Dancer
Ballet: Dancers learn classical ballet positions and steps. Develop strength, flexibility, musicality, balance, coordination, and stamina! Eastside Dance draws from the best of Balanchine and Vagonova ballet techniques. Ballet classes consist of barre and center combinations.
Studio Hip-Hop: Join us in this fast-paced dance class. Dancers learn hip-hop dance technique and culture in a studio setting, beginning with bounces, rolls, grooves, rocks, and 2-steps. Dancers learn new choreography weekly, developing coordination, rhythm, strength, and memory. Classes are set to hip-hop music.
Jazz: Get ready to move into our high-energy Jazz class. This dynamic class combines sharp, precise movements with fluid, expressive techniques, helping dancers build strength, flexibility, and musicality. From upbeat routines to classic jazz styles, our class offers a fun and exciting way to explore the art of dance while developing your unique style.
Tap: Step into rhythm with our Tap class. This class focuses on developing coordination, timing, and musicality through intricate footwork and percussive movement. Dancers will learn various tap techniques, from basic steps to more advanced combinations, all set to lively music. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, our Tap class offers a fun and engaging way to express yourself through rhythm and sound.
Contemporary: Contemporary movement pulls from Jazz, Lyrical, Classical modern dance techniques (Horton, Graham, Cunningham), and improvisation to create a grounded, free, and emotive movement. This class is perfect for dancers who prefer more free-form and responding to the tone and lyrics of the music. Class is set to low-key contemporary pop music.
Pom: Dancers will love this high-energy class! Pom dance blends elements of Cheer, Hip-hop, Jazz, and Pom techniques. Students will build strength, coordination, flexibility, and teamwork as they master cheer jumps, basic stunts, and dance team routines. If your dancer dreams of joining a dance team or cheer squad, this class is perfect for them!
Beginning: For new dancers and dancers returning after a few years off.
Beginning and/or Intermediate (Beg/Int): For dancers with approximately one year of dance experience.
Intermediate and/or Advanced:
For dancers with several years of experience.
Level 2 and up: For dancers with 2+ years of experience who would like to train more intensively and be eligible to perform with the Eastside Dance Company.
